Pick Your Decade

I’ve loved the vintage look since long before vintage became fashionable. (I know, I know…everyone says it.) And while I occasionally pine for the adventure of finding treasures among the piles at thrift stores, these days I’m doing more of it online.

I’ve loved the vintage look since long before vintage became fashionable. (I know, I know…everyone says it.) And while I occasionally pine for the adventure of finding treasures among the piles at thrift stores, these days I’m doing more of it online.
Girl Charlee, founded by fellow retro fan Heather Peterson, has an incredible selection of vintage and vintage-inspired infants’ and children’s clothing. While there are a few pieces for boys, it’s the beautifully crafted girls’ dresses, skirts and blouses that are the main attractions. You’ll find innovative fabric combinations and styles incorporating materials from the ’30s through the ’70s–everything from postwar-era sweetheart collar blouses to seersucker pedal pushers to groovy halter dresses.
In Heather Peterson’s capable hands, you can style your little girl as you might have been dressed in your own youth. Or just wish that you were.
Next time I head to Goodwill, it’s dropoff only. –Julie
