This week, in honor of World Breastfeeding Week, we’ve asked our contributors to share their favorite nursing picks.

There’s a stage of breastfeeding for which none of the books really
prepare you: the one where the baby nurses while simultaneously doing,
oh, everything else. For my kids, that meant trying to breastfeed while
sticking fingers in my nose and doing handstands.

The only thing that
distracted them enough to circumvent the acrobatics and get down to the
business of eating: when I wore eye-catching, nice-feeling jewelry.
These super-chic Chewbeads are ideal for getting babes’ attention–and they’re silicone and
BPA/PVC/phthalate-free, so they’re way safer for babies to twiddle (and
eventually chew!) than that old metal necklace from your jewelry box. – Lexi

  1. Wow, I did the same thing – wore a necklace that had a jingle ball on it for distraction. Wish i knew about these beads then!

  2. Aww, we love stuff like this too! I had never used chew beads yet, but I used Teething Bling which was similar: https://www.busymomboutique.com/Teething-Bling_c_7.html

  3. I have another possible way to use these! Last year, when my then 4 1/2 year old started Kindergarten, he would chew his sleeves until they were torn and tattered. I spoke to other moms who said that their kids had done something similar and that they used chew bracelets. These might work well for that, too! (Thankfully, my little one seems to be adjusting to first grade more quickly and easily than last year.)
